Warriors Release A Hype Video For An Underrated Key Player

There are quite a few stars playing for the Golden State Warriors.

That is obviously true because a team cannot win the NBA Finals without a slew of stars on the roster.

It’s not just the Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson show.

In fact, there are so many great talents on the team that some of them don’t get the recognition they deserve.

That’s the case with Kevon Looney.

The Warriors celebrated Looney on Twitter, posting a video of the three-time champion.

That’s right, he has won three rings during his time with the Warriors, something that many people forget.

Looney is yet another unsung hero on the team, one that is greatly valued by the rest of the players and the coaching staff too.

Love For Looney

During the latest season, Looney put up 6 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 2 assists.

Those rebounds are what really count for the Warriors because they are a team not often known for their defensive power.

During the playoffs, Looney stepped it up a notch and produced 7.6 rebounds per game.

And while he wasn’t taking many shots per game, he was landing a lot of them with a field goal percentage of 65.9%.

Not everyone on the Warriors is as flashy as Curry or Thompson but they all serve a very important purpose.

Looney can use his size and his weight and his intimidating presence in the paint to get blocks, stops, and turn the direction of the game in his team’s favor.

For a team often called “small”, Looney is definitely the opposite of that.

His hard work is paying off because the team is better defensively than it has been in ages.

The latest championship proves that.
