Clayton Kershaw was off to a tremendous start in 2022 after returning to the Los Angeles Dodgers on a one-year, $17 million deal.
However, he will not be making his originally scheduled start tonight as the Dodgers play host to the Philadelphia Phillies.
Instead, he will land on the injured list with right SI joint inflammation.
Walker Buehler will be moved up from his start on Saturday and start tonight in Kershaw’s place.
Once again, with Kershaw down, Buehler will be stepping up to pick up the slack.
Buehler has started off the 2022 season with a 4-1 record and a 1.96 ERA in his first six starts.
Walker Buehler will start for the Dodgers tonight in place of Clayton Kershaw. Buehler was scheduled to start tomorrow.

Buehler Earns Ace Status
Buehler is once again assuming the role of ace in the Dodgers’ starting rotation.
He’s been that guy for a couple of years now since Kershaw has struggled a with his health.
Once again, he’ll step into that role and see if he can give the Dodgers some innings coverage tonight against the Phillies.
This time, it’s official that Buehler has stepped up and taken the role.
Kershaw has successfully passed the torch down to him and helped groom him into what he is today: one of the best pitchers in all of baseball with Cy Young-caliber stuff.
He’ll be put to the test once again tonight, but at this point, the Dodgers feel confident in what they have with Buehler.
The role of ace is his for the taking and he’ll be doing something tonight that he is no stranger to doing.
He’ll be called upon to provide a stopgap for the Dodgers and to help right the ship after Kershaw’s injury.
Buehler will be opposed by Kyle Gibson.
