Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Showed Off His Strength In Frustration

Sometimes, baseball gets the best of you, even if you’re one of the top players in the game.

It’s a fickle game full of ups and downs and ebbs and flows.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. certainly felt that on Wednesday afternoon during the Toronto Blue Jays‘ series finale against the New York Yankees.

After striking out, Guerrero snapped his bat in half over his knee as he walked back to the bench.

Cut4 on Twitter had a funny comment, tweeting a video of the incident with the caption “RIP in pieces to this bat” with the prayer emoji at the end of it.

Channeling Bo

Here, Guerrero pulled a Bo Jackson.

Most fans with passing knowledge of the sport know of the infamous day in which Detroit Tigers lefty Frank Tanana struck out Jackson four times, with Jackson snapping his bat into pieces over his knee after the fourth one.

All Guerrero was doing was channeling his inner Bo.

It’s understandable.

Sometimes the game can be too much for even the best in the business.

But we should all say a prayer for this poor bat.

He took quite a big blow, but at least now he gets to go to bat heaven and meet up with Jackson’s shattered bat.

What a show of strength by Guerrero.

Often times, when athletes are frustrated, they take it all out on inanimate objects.

And because of their sheer strength, those objects pay the price.

Such can be said for Guerrero’s bat here today.

Maybe just another bat will help Guerrero get back on track.

But Guerrero certainly put on a nice show of strength what he smashed that thing to smithereens.
