NFL teams who are no longer in playoff contention are now seeking some new talent for their coaching staff.
Two teams who need a defensive coordinator are the Minnesota Vikings and Miami Dolphins.
After both teams saw early exits in the NFL playoffs, they fired their defensive coordinators.
Without a coach in this position, the two teams are searching for someone to fill the role.
One option both teams are examining is interviewing Sean Desai, the defensive assistant coach of the Seattle Seahawks.
The #Vikings and #Dolphins, both of whom have vacant DC jobs, have requested to interview #Seahawks defensive assistant and associate head coach Sean Desai, sources say.

The 39-year-old has some experience coaching players in the NFL.
He got his start with the Chicago Bears as their defensive quality control coach.
After six years in this position, the Bears promoted him to be their safeties coach in 2019.
He also spent one season as their defensive coordinator before going to Seattle in 2022.
Both teams are hoping he can turn their defenses around, as they had defensive issues leading up to the playoffs.
While both teams have star power on the defensive side, their talent never got to shine.
For the Dolphins, their defense was near the bottom in interceptions, turnovers, passing touchdowns, and redzone touchdowns.
However, the Vikings defensive woes came from their pass defense and rushing touchdowns allowed.
They also ranked 21st in sacks, despite having solid players like Za’Darius Smith.
With both teams having their own defensive problems, they feel it’s Sean Desai who can fix their issues.
While he has experience as a coordinator, it was for one season.
However, it’s good enough for these teams to give him a chance in 2023.
