Yuli Gurriel was the first baseman of the 2022 Houston Astros, which means he was an important piece on the roster that won the World Series against the Philadelphia Phillies.
He hit free agency immediately after the World Series, and ended up signing with the Miami Marlins.
That means he wasn’t there to get his World Series ring at Minute Maid Park when the Astros received them.
He had to wait until mid-August to get his, as the Astros visited the Marlins for a series.
Yuli Gurriel finally got his World Series ring 🥺💍

MLB Network posted a video on Twitter, with Gurriel getting his ring and greeting and hugging his former teammates.
Yordan Alvarez, Jose Altuve, and several other players took advantage of the opportunity to say hello to their friend.
Gurriel played with the Astros from 2016 until 2022.
He won two Fall Classics with them, with the other being in 2017.
On top of that, he made two other World Series, in 2019 and 2021, losing them to the Washington Nationals and Atlanta Braves, respectively.
He is one of the most beloved Astros of the last decade.
His versatility, contact hitting, and clutch play helped revive a franchise, and turn it into one of MLB’s powerhouses.
Now, he has started another chapter with the Marlins.
In Florida, he is actually competing for a spot in the postseason, where he can clearly help with his versatility and experience.
He is hitting .263/.320/.378 with three home runs in 278 plate appearances with the Fish.
Will the Marlins make the postseason?
Will Gurriel have one last hurrah there?
