The Philadelphia Eagles earned an extra first-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft via a trade with the New Orleans Saints.
That selection could be used for a young quarterback if Jalen Hurts did not pan out.
However, they may use it for another position because Hurts has been exceptional six games into the 2022 season
He has been the undeniable leader of a team that has remained undefeated through Week 6.
Hurts is eighth in passing yards with 1,514 and tied for the second-least interceptions with two.
The former Alabama and Oklahoma standout also has six touchdowns from 293 rushing yards.
But aside from being a spark on the field, Hurts is also becoming the team’s vocal leader.

Philadelphia Tribune sports correspondent O.J. Spivey shared Hurts’ postgame speech to his teammates after their victory over their division rivals, the Dallas Cowboys.
“I want to express gratitude to everybody in this locker room right now because we talk about being a family. We practice that every day. But today, we played together. Today, we had each other’s back. Today, we played like a family,” Hurts said.
More Room For Improvement
“We played like a family, but we still left money on the table. I admire all the faces you’re having because we know what we can do and we know what we can be. We know it’s in our heads, and that’s how it’s always gonna be. But we continue to take these steps and take advantage of every opportunity we have moving forward, and we can really be a dominant football team,” he added.
The Eagles will have a bye before returning to action in Week 8 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
They will face the Houston Texans in Week 9 and the Washington Commanders in Week 10.
