The Kansas City Chiefs will host Sunday’s AFC Championship Game for the fifth straight season.
Despite having one of the greatest coaches of all time in Andy Reid, the Chiefs go as Patrick Mahomes goes.
But, after suffering an ankle injury in last week’s AFC Divisional round, Mahomes’ health is a big concern.
The ankle will most likely limit Mahomes, but as long as he is on the field, the Chiefs have a chance.
Mahomes has practiced all week and was even seen throwing the ball around on Friday.

While this video showed almost no mobility from Mahomes, he was able to push off his foot/ankle and throw the ball downfield.
But, a large part of Mahomes’ game is his ability to move around and create plays with his legs.
Facing a very good Cincinnati Bengals team, the Chiefs will need Mahomes to be at his best.
The Chiefs lost to the Bengals earlier in the season and lost last year’s AFC championship to Cincinnati.
Kansas City has not made the Super Bowl since 2020-21, and losing to the Bengals again at home would be worrisome.
The Bengals are looking to become the top dog in the AFC.
Winning this game would go a long way in doing that.
Ultimately, this game will come down to quarterback play and if Mahomes can outplay Burrow.
If Mahomes is forced to play from the pocket, that could be a huge benefit for the Bengals.
These two teams will be meeting in the AFC Championship for many years to come, and this should be another great battle.
