The Heat posted a video of Lowry working out in the gym, preparing himself for his 17th season with the NBA.
Lowry looks and sounds ready to go and even mentioned that it felt like only his fourth year with the league.
Hopefully, he really is feeling youthful, athletic, and ready to play because he is coming off of one of his most challenging seasons yet.
The Heat are hoping that year 17 Lowry looks a lot more like year 4 Lowry.
Feeling The Heat
Lowry has played for a few teams during his career but he is best known as one of the most celebrated Toronto Raptors players in history.
Some expected him to retire in Toronto but he was then sent to the Heat during the 2021-22 season.
Lowry was set to be a huge offensive boon for Miami with a career average of 14.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 6.3 assists.
During his final season with the Raptors, he was actually averaging 17.2 points a game.
But his output dropped off significantly when he came to Miami, and he put up just 13.4 points a game and suffered an injury that took him out of the game and slowed him down when he did return.
Now fans are nervous that Lowry won’t be the same player he once was.
Yet, he seems tuned in and ready to play, fired up for the new season.
If he’s back in good shape and performs as he did in seasons past, the Heat will become even more powerful.
