This time, Justin Fields will be the Chicago Bears‘ starting quarterback in Week 1.
No one will be brought in to prepare the way for him.
Therefore, the success or failure of the squad will fall heavily on him.
It won’t be like last season wherein Andy Dalton started some games before him.
With a season of professional football under his wing, Fields is expected to be the leader on offense.
That’s why he is already putting in the work before going into training camp.

This video shows Fields going through the motions at quarterback.
He pretends to take the ball from the snap and drops back before scouring the field.
After which, he made a throw to his intended receiver.
With him being the Bears’ full-time starter, he will certainly improve from his 2021 statistics of 1,870 yards and seven touchdowns.
Unfortunately, it’s difficult to see the Bears competing in 2022 which makes his job a bit tougher.
Yes, the Bears have high hopes for him after trading up to select him in round one of last year’s draft.
But the reality is he can’t do it alone and he will need better players around him.
Can Fields Execute Plays From The Pocket?
The former Ohio State standout does have the mobility to extend plays if they don’t materialize.
But the bigger question is if he will have a clean pocket of protection at most times.
The Bears’ offensive line is suspect, forcing him to run more than simply step back and throw.
That said, Fields would have to bring out a gargantuan effort to bring the Bears to a respectable finish.
Otherwise, it will be another season of disappointment due to a shallow talent pool.
