Jacob deGrom is ready to get started with the Texas Rangers.
Early in the offseason, Texas signed the veteran right-hander to a five-year, $185 million contract.
This officially gives the Rangers their ace and somebody to go alongside Martin Perez at the top of their rotation.
The two-time National League Cy Young Award winner is in uncharted territory, as he’ll be pitching in the American League for the first time in his career.
And today, Rangers fans can finally get their first look of their new star in Texas threads.
On Twitter, the Rangers tweeted a slow-motion video of deGrom throwing a bullpen session in his new uniform with pitching guru Mike Maddux watching.

Rangers fans have to be excited to see this.
Last season was a difficult one for Texas.
Even after signing Marcus Semien and Corey Seager, the team won just 68 games and fell short of the postseason.
But with a revamped rotation that also features Nathan Eovaldi, Andrew Heaney, and Jake Odorizzi, Texas looks ready to take the next step, and having deGrom in the fold can certainly help with that.
In addition to his two Cy Young Awards, deGrom is a four-time All-Star and a former NL Rookie of the Year.
And judging by the video, deGrom looks prepared to go out and dominate in his new uniform and help lead the Rangers back to the postseason for the first time since 2016.
There’s a lot to be excited about if you’re a Rangers fan, and this is just one reason to look forward to the upcoming season.
