The Brooklyn Nets are finally living up to what everybody expected of them.
The Steve Nash era was full of controversy, off-court issues, and underachievements, but there’s no sign of that anymore at the Barclays Center.
Jacque Vaughn has made it all about hoops, and the players have bought in:
“Hopefully [we are] going to be a group that it doesn’t matter what the situation is,” Vaughn said after their win over the Spurs. “Whether it’s the end of the year versus Charlotte, the beginning of the year versus San Antonio, whether it’s at home versus Milwaukee, whether it’s on the road versus Cleveland — we show up, we play. Whoever’s going to play, we hoop out.”

The Nets are now riding a league-best 12-game winning streak and look like the most unstoppable offensive force in the Association.
They finally stopped going through the motions, and they look like a team that’s legitimately motivated to fulfill its potential and play team basketball.
For years, fans hoped and expected that the Kyrie Irving – Kevin Durant duo would take over the Eastern Conference at some point, yet it always seemed like their egos got in the way of their greatness.
But the Nets now look like a team that’s having fun with a coach that won’t hesitate to hold everybody — superstars included — accountable, and that might as well be just what they needed to finally take the intensity up a notch.
This is the last team you want to meet in a seven-game playoff series.
