On Tuesday night, a Toronto Blue Jays fan performed the ultimate act of kindness when he gave Aaron Judge‘s home run ball that he caught to a young New York Yankees fan, who ultimately was brought to tears and gave the Blue Jays fan a big hug.
Last night, the young fan, 9-year-old Derek Rodriguez, got a chance to meet Judge.
After receiving the ball, Rodriguez talked about how Judge was his favorite player on the Yankees’ roster.
This kid is now not only famous, but lucky enough to have had a chance to meet his idol and show him how much he admires him.

Meeting A Hero
This is what it’s all about.
Whenever a young fan gets a chance to meet their favorite player, it’s always a nice moment.
What’s even better is that Rodriguez got to actually show Judge how much he admired him.
When Judge asked Rodriguez who his favorite player was, Rodriguez pointed to him and turned around to show him the back of his T-shirt, which featured Judge’s name and No. 99.
It doesn’t get much better than this.
Rodriguez was given a gift by a fan and began crying tears of joy as he hugged his new friend, then one night later, he got to meet his favorite player.
This is a great story and a great moment in time that the young Rodriguez will never forget.
He’ll cherish these moments forever, being gifted a home run ball from an opposing fan and getting a chance to meet his idol.
Could you draw it up any better for this kid?
Probably not.
What a great moment for him and his family.
