The Detroit Lions may not have the best team in the league, but they believe they can beat the best teams on any given night.
They closed out last season by running Aaron Rodgers out of the division and ending the Green Bay Packers postseason aspirations, and they began this campaign by spoiling the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl banner party.
Following the game, HC Dan Campbell gave a passionate speech to his players, letting them know that they belong and they’re capable of beating everybody if they’re locked in.

Campbell has been instrumental in this team’s culture turnaround.
No one believed in them or their chances to compete at the highest level a couple of years ago.
They’ve gotten better almost week after week, and they look like a team that’s poised to make some big noise out of the division this season.
Of course, the Chiefs were undermanned on both sides of the field, but the Lions of old would’ve found a way to lose that game.
They’ve learned how to close out games, and how to play winning football.
The Lions should be the clear-cut favorite to come out of the NFC North, now that Aaron Rodgers is no longer in the division.
They will get a prime reinforcement in WR Jameson Williams once he serves his six-game gambling suspension, and with Jared Goff finally looking the part, betting against this Lions team might not be the wisest choice this season.
They’re — indeed — built for this.
