It’s time you introduce yourself to the Oklahoma City Thunder‘s newest star player, Chet Holmgren.
The number two pick in this year’s draft took to the floor on Tuesday night in a Summer League game against the Utah Jazz.
In the end, the Thunder secured a 98-77 victory in large part due to Holmgren’s explosive performance.
He scored 13 of his 23 points in the first quarter and was just all over the floor, proving to Thunder fans all over that their team made the right choice in the draft.
this is uncanny 👀 🤯

One particular moment during his play was remarkable: he has one specific shot that look like vintage Dirk Nowitzki from 2011.
He even nailed the little leg kick that Nowitzki always did.
This is all leading many to ask: is there a chance that Holmgren is the next Nowitzki?
Mimicking The GOAT
When you compare the two players, there are some similarities: Nowtizki is seven-feet and Holmgren is as well.
Nowtizki had more muscle and a lot more experience and skill too, of course.
But Holmgren would be smart to start following in the career footsteps of the Dallas legend.
There is no telling how far Holmgren can go: he’s got the size, he’s obviously got a lot of talent, and he’s a part of a team that is going to rely on him a lot.
Oklahoma City is one of the youngest teams in the league, with a lot of up-and-coming stars who will get plenty of time to shine.
Holmgren will definitely be one of the most popular and busy rookies in the months ahead.
If he keeps playing as he did in his first Summer League game, that might take the Thunder to a whole new level.

He reminds me more of Kevin McHale in his style of play than Nowitzki, but we will see how he hold up in the paint.
