Last week, the quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, Jimmy Garoppolo, was carted off during the game with an injury.
This led to backup quarterback Brock Purdy entering the game and winning it.
In the past week, the 49ers were linked with recently released quarterback Baker Mayfield.
But Baker did not sign with the 49ers, choosing the City of Angels over the Bay Area, so Purdy was back in as quarterback in the 49ers game against Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
In a one-sided affair, San Francisco would beat Tampa Bay, 35-7.
Purdy’s win made him the first quarterback ever to beat Brady in their first career start.
For someone so young, to lead a team to victory against probably one of, if not the greatest quarterback of all time, and to do it in such a dominant fashion should be something to be celebrated.
Purdy did just that after the game, but in such a wholesome way that makes you like him even more.

The Importance Of Family
After the game ended, and the cameras cut away, Purdy was seen going into the stands at Levi’s Stadium.
He found his family and friends and embraced them.
Having family, the people who have supported Purdy throughout his career his first game in the NFL must have been both uplifting and nerve-wracking.
To win, in the manner in which his team did, in front of your family must have been an emotional experience for all parties involved.
From a fan perspective, Purdy entering the stands after the game and finding his family is his way of saying thank you for all the support they have given him over the years.
Let’s hope Purdy continues to not only play well, but continues to give us wholesome moments like this.
