It’s been a difficult couple of years for the Boston Red Sox.
Since the start of the 2020 season, they’ve watched several homegrown players depart.
It all began when the team traded away former American League MVP Mookie Betts.
Other players have followed since the Betts trade.
A year later, the team traded away Andrew Benintendi.
They also lost Jackie Bradley Jr.and Christian Vazquez, both of whom were traded in a span of just two years.
Adding to that list is Xander Bogaerts, who recently signed an 11-year, $280 million contract with the San Diego Padres.
The video in the tweet below shows just how many homegrown players the Red Sox have lost.

The Red Sox And Their Lost Talent
Needless to say, Red Sox fans are quite frustrated with the current state of affairs.
Even after two major signings last week, those being Kenley Jansen and Masataka Yoshida, the team still fell short in the Bogaerts sweepstakes and lost yet another homegrown star.
It stands to reason why President of Baseball Operations Chaim Bloom isn’t exactly popular with Red Sox fans.
The team does have Trevor Story, who they can plug in at the shortstop position, but that doesn’t ease the pain of Sox fans in any way.
So many fan favorites have come and gone, and now fans in Boston are worried that Rafael Devers will suffer the same fate.
Boston has yet to offer him a contract extension, just as they had with Bogaerts.
The Red Sox are an organization that is going to need to change a few things if they want to return to contention.
