When the new season begins next month, the New Orleans Pelicans could be starting one of their best years ever.
Fans ended last year with serious excitement after the team rallied strong in the regular season and actually made the playoffs.
They didn’t get far but they showed a lot of serious grit and skill and even stood strong against the Phoenix Suns.
But things are going to be on a whole other level next month because the team will once again have its lead star, Zion Williamson.

Williamson is coming back to the team after more than a year away due to injury and rehabilitation.
It’s a good time to remember just how terrific Williamson is.
For example, he scored 17 consecutive points in the fourth quarter of his first NBA game.
From there, Williamson got better and better and had one of the greatest rookie seasons of all time.
He has trouble staying healthy but no one should doubt the sheer ferocity and power of Williamson.
Welcoming Williamson Back
At the end of his first year in the league, Williamson was averaging 22.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 2.1 assists.
The man was an absolute beast for his Pels, although the team still struggled and couldn’t make it far into the postseason.
However, the team is a lot better now than it was then and Williamson isn’t the only superstar on the team.
During his away time, the crew has gotten much stronger and now they are ready to slide Williamson into the rotation and instantly get to work.
The Western Conference is deep and the challenges will be many but if Williamson stays healthy, the Pelicans could be part of the NBA conversation all season long.
