Some people are just overly lucky like Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Van Jefferson.
He is finally a Super Bowl champion after his team defeated the Cincinnati Bengals at their home turf, SoFi Stadium.
But while becoming a world champion is a huge accomplishment, his biggest blessing was about to come.
Still celebrating the victory with confetti and some quality time with his kids, a team representative approached him to say that his wife, Samaria, was about to give birth.
Jefferson wasted no time in heading to the hospital while carrying his daughter with him.
A little over two hours after Super Bowl LVI ended, the Jeffersons welcomed their new baby, the name of which is perfect.

ESPN’s SportsCenter revealed that Jefferson named his newborn Champ Curtis Jefferson.
It’s a fitting name because he became a champion the same night his baby was born.
The Champ Will Be Carrying Champ
It’s also good timing that Samaria gave birth after the final game of the 2021 NFL season.
Jefferson gets to step away from football in the meantime and be hands-on in taking care of his son.
In his recent guest spot on the Adam Schefter Podcast, as shared in the above tweet, Jefferson revealed that the name Champ ticks all boxes.
He said, “Champ… I think it’s very fitting to name him Champ. We looked it up and Champ is like a warrior and my wife is a warrior like what she did throughout this whole week of Super Bowl, the week of Super Bowl being so crazy. He’s a champ, and she’s a warrior, so Champ Curtis Jefferson.”
It’s perfect that he honored his wife who had to endure the pains of giving birth while he prepared for the biggest game of his career.
Only time can tell if Champ will also be a champion football player.
But he’s got solid support from daddy Van and mommy Samaria.
