Urban Meyer has not had a great past few days.
First, his Jacksonville Jaguars fell on the road Thursday night in Cincinnati.
With Meyer having roots in Ohio, he decided to stay there following the game.
As most NFL fans now know, staying resulted in a viral video surfacing of a young woman dancing on Meyer’s lap at a bar.
The clip was short, but certainly bizarre considering he is married and it was the day after a game.
Was Meyer going to address this?
Well, he had to given how much of a talking point it became over the weekend.
There was simply no avoiding it.

Meyer seems plenty remorseful and claimed a group of people were trying to get him to dance and the video was the result of that.
Do we all believe him?
Honestly, the best thing to do is just move past this and get the focus back on football.
An Unnecessary Distraction
Perhaps the most bizarre part of this whole story is Meyer not flying home with the team following such a tough loss.
He wanted to spend time with family, but it is still the start of the season and the Jaguars are not on a bye.
They are also 0-4 so a bit of extra preparation for Week 5 would not hurt.
But if the video never surfaced, no one would really know or care that Meyer did not fly home with the team.
That is why he kept mentioning himself as a distraction to the team.
He surely isn’t wrong.
Back To Football
Meyer seemed like a broken man after Thursday’s loss.

He was talking to the media like he just lost the Super Bowl and may need to remember the long-term plan this Jaguars team is taking.
Things were always going to be tough in 2021, whether Meyer wanted to believe that or not.
Week 5 brings with it a home game against a Tennessee Titans team that just fell to the winless New York Jets.
That dropped the Titans to 2-2, which is good enough to lead the AFC South.
So if the Jaguars can pick up the win they will only be one game back of the division lead.
That is some great motivation right there.
Are the Jaguars a playoff team?
No, not at all.
But they have shown positive steps forward and Trevor Lawrence is getting more comfortable with every game.
It is just so early in his career and growing pains are to be expected.
Yet a single win is not too much to ask and taking down the Titans would be a great way to move past this story for Meyer and the entire Jaguars organization.
