The NBA is about to start its 2022-23 season but it’s a player who could rule the 2023-24 year that has so many people talking right now.
The future star in question is Victor Wembanyama, the 7-foot-4 French center who is projected by just about everyone as the number one pick in the next draft.
For months now, people have said that Wembanyama is the definition of a “unicorn” player, someone who can command defense because of his huge frame but can also run plays, move the ball, and take perimeter shots.
"You ever seen a 7'4 guy bringing [the ball] up?"

Wembanyama was ready to show what he is capable of on Tuesday night, as his Metropolitans 92 team, a pro squad from France, played against the G League Ignite team in Las Vegas.
What did the future superstar do?
A lot: he scored 37 points in the game, finishing 11-for-20 and 7-for-11 on three-pointers.
He also had five blocks during the game too, showing that he really can dominate on both ends of the court.
Wowed By Wembanyama
Wembanyama’s power was evident when he acted as a point guard and then wove his way into the paint and scored a lay-up against the defense.
In moments like this, he performs like a one-man team that is able to work the floor in every way.
Wembanyama has an entire season to keep perfecting his game before the draft comes.
There will be no shortage of teams eager to land the French phenom and any team that gets the number one pick this season will be holding perhaps the most-coveted pick in recent memory.
In the months ahead, you should expect to hear a lot more about this young player.
By this time next year, he will definitely be starting his NBA career.
