There are certain times in baseball when umpires feel like they need to take matters into their own hands.
Even though that should never happen, we saw it firsthand in a college baseball game over the weekend.
After making a questionable call for strike two, umpire Reggie Drummer did not like that the batter showed him up.
So when the next pitch was in the dirt, he called strike three anyway.
This is a division 1 baseball game… Can't even call it a terrible call. Umpire made it personal. 😂😂😂😂 pic.twitter.com/zXOvzDmIbd

Everyone on the field and watching the game could tell that pitch was a ball.
The announcers were especially shocked that this pitch was even considered to be a strike.
Luckily, things did not turn into an altercation between the batter and umpire after the pitch.
Also, you can see that the umpire just wanted to get off the field.
He made the call and immediately headed for the dugout.
Luckily, the Southland Conference will not put up with this type of umpiring.
They recently released a statement saying that they suspended Drummer indefinitely.

Even though the batter could have handled the second strike better, the umpire should be able to take emotion out of his calls.
It would be a surprise to see Drummer umpire any more games this season for the Southland Conference.
He may have even ruined his umpiring career by making one bad decision.
