On Saturday night at UFC Fight Night 178, top welterweight contender, Colby Covington was featured in the main event fighting former UFC Champion, Tyron Woodley.
Covington, also known as, “Chaos”, was favored coming into this fight and won in the 5th round via KO/TKO.
After the fight, Covington focused his attention to Lakers superstar, LeBron James.
Lebron James, who has been the center of attention in the NBA for the last 17 years does not keep his mouth shut when it comes to social justice.
James has served as a pillar for the minority community as he has been an activist in promoting social change.
It is no secret that James, along with many other professional athletes are not a fan our of president, Donald J. Trump.
Colby Covington is a known Republican
After the fight on Saturday night, while Covington was being interviewed, he received a phone call from President Trump.
During the interview, Covington was sporting a red “Keep America Great” hat.
Clearly, Covington does not back down from his affiliation with the republican party and welcomes the controversy that comes along with it.

During the phone call conversation, you hear President Trump congratulate Covington on multiple occasions.
These two seem to be a big fan of one another as Trump tells Covington on the phone call that he ended his rally in front of “35,000” people short so he could get back and watch him fight.
Covington takes much pride in supporting President Trump and tells him that their handshake at his last rally inspired him to go out there and get the victory.
Covington said it did not matter if “King Kong” was going to be his opponent tonight, he was still going to get the win.
On Covington’s twitter, his profile picture is the one from the oval office when he was invited by President Trump.
Covington calls LeBron James a “spineless coward”
After his victory, Covington did not back down from his public feud with LeBron James.
He went on to comment about it. Covington states:
“I want to dedicate this fight to all the first responders, all the military out there. You keep us safe. Not these ‘woke athletes’. Not these spineless cowards like LeBron James.”
James of course, is an easy target due to his activism in the community and his knowingness for being one of the most outspoken athletes.
To his credit, when Lebron does find himself in these situations of being called out on national television, he does not respond.
If he does respond, for the most part, he takes the high road.
Covington is attempting to get under Lebron’s skin by also bringing his mother into the occasion.
Covington tweeted the following:
LOL at the snowflakes that believe @KingJames could even last 10 seconds with me! If that coward had the balls or the ability to kick anyone’s ass, Delonte West would’ve lost his teeth long before his meth habit! pic.twitter.com/TQZ56FBnt1

It was rumored that during LeBron’s time in Cleveland, his teammate Delonte West was sleeping with his mother.
Sources were never able to confirm whether or not it was true, but it is believed to be true by many around the media.
Some of LeBron’s colleagues came to his defense.
In particular, Austin Rivers and Kevin Durant attempted to defend LeBron on social media.
Shannon Sharp, co-host of Undisputed on FS1, defended LeBron, tweeting the following:
@ColbyCovMMA it’s interesting you wanna talk a big gm, fight Lebron, but @USMAN84kg beat your A**. Referee had save you, yet, you wanna fight a 🏀 player. Wanna impress me call out @stylebender or @JonnyBones and fight them,🤡 🤡
