On Sunday, Team Canada put together a solid performance against Great Britain, who had lost on Saturday in their World Baseball Classic opener against Team USA.
Things didn’t go any better for them on Sunday.
Team Canada busted out for 18 runs and ultimately ended the game early as a result of the mercy rule.
Leading the way for Canada was St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Tyler O’Neill, who is poised to have a bounce-back campaign in 2023.
On Twitter, Bally Sports Midwest, the TV home of the Cardinals, posted O’Neill’s final stat line from Sunday.

The young slugger went 4-for-4 with a double, two walks, and four RBI.
O’Neill certainly busted out on Sunday, helping Canada completely dismantle Great Britain.
The Cardinals liked what they saw out of O’Neill back in 2021, when he hit 34 home runs and found himself in the conversation for the National League MVP Award.
He took a few steps back in 2022, having hit the injured list three times.
He also struggled to find consistency for much of the year.
But he’s put on a show thus far for Team Canada and looks prepared to return to form this season.
Canada will match up against Team USA on Monday.
That game will get underway at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
O’Neill will face off against his Cardinals teammates in Paul Goldschmidt and Nolan Arenado.
Adam Wainwright and Miles Mikolas are also part of Team USA.
O’Neill will look to continue his surge against his Cardinals teammates on Monday at Chase Field.
