MLB announced its Players of the Week awards, in both leagues.
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Cody Bellinger is taking home the honor in the National League.
In the American League, however, the honor was shared: Detroit Tigers legend Miguel Cabrera and the Seattle Mariners’ Ty France will both get the award.

For Cabrera, it is more of a league-wide sign of respect after he reached 3,000 hits over the weekend, at home against the Colorado Rockies.
Actually, he wasn’t too shabby with the bat in the week as a whole, going 7-for-18 at the plate (.389), and becoming the 33rd member of baseball’s 3,000-hit club.
He is the seventh with at least 3,000 hits and 500 home runs, and the only one with those numbers plus a .300 average and a Triple Crown.
France Was The Very Best Hitter In Baseball Last Week
France, on the other hand, did show some power and thump on his bat.
The versatile infielder now leads MLB in hits (24) and total bases (42), after going 13-for-26 (.500) with three home runs, 10 RBIs and a 1.436 OPS last week.
France was an integral part of the Mariners team that won five of the six games it played last week, enough to take first place of the AL West division.
He has always had talent, but needed to be on a team in which he played everyday to realize his full potential.
That opportunity didn’t come with the San Diego Padres, but is coming now with the Mariners.
For the season, France is slashing .375/.459/.656 with five dingers so far.
