The Minnesota Twins found themselves in a weird spot on Tuesday night at the end of their game against the Detroit Tigers.
Down 4-3 with one out in the bottom of the ninth, slugger Miguel Sano singled to right field on a ball that was just out of the reach of Tigers right fielder and former Twin Robbie Grossman.
But there was a bit of a baserunning blunder at third base.
While Sano headed for second and Gio Urshela went to third, Trevor Larnach had stopped, only for Tigers catcher Eric Haase to make a throwing error that allowed two runs to score and win it for the Twins.
Manager Rocco Baldelli spoke about the odd events that took place and had this to say.
Rocco Baldelli, on the crazy finish:
"Once in a while, you walk away and you just kind of throw your hands in the air, and you smile, and you take the win."

A Win Is A Win
Sometimes, you’ve just got to take the win and be happy with it.
That’s what the Twins should do here.
They still managed to win the game and take advantage of the Tigers’ mistakes, though one can imagine that Baldelli might have them work on baserunning a little bit to avoid what could have happened, that being some extra outs on the bases that would have finished off a Tigers victory.
But sometimes, even in the wildest circumstances, you’ve got to celebrate what you can.
The Twins won the game and a win is a win.
Success should never be questioned.
Teams should celebrate wins any way they get them.
Baldelli is just happy that the Twins managed to sneak that one out when it could have turned into a heartbreaker, especially after a Javier Baez go-ahead homer in the eighth that put Detroit on top.
