Byron Buxton has been a force in the Minnesota Twins lineup this year and has been a major key to their turnaround.
Injuries previously had slowed him down earlier in his career, but this season, he has remained healthy and has been a big key to the Twins’ success.
He is hitting just .236 on the season, but his power numbers are pretty solid.
He’s already hit 20 home runs on the season and driven in 36.
He’s also got a .900 OPS.
Twins insider Aaron Gleeman pointed out an interesting statistic on Twitter that goes to show just how dangerous and productive Buxton can be when he is healthy.
Byron Buxton has 52 homers in his last 162 games.

Buxton Flashes His Potential
52 home runs in his previous 162 games?
That’s impressive.
If he can stay healthy on a consistent basis, then who knows what kind of numbers he could put up?
He has tremendous power and tremendous upside.
He’s also still only 28 years old.
There’s still room for him to grow for sure, but he can flat out hit.
If he could’ve stayed healthy over the past few years, he could have put up some astronomical numbers at the plate.
Injuries were what was slowing him down and stalling his production, but not this year.
This year is different, and Buxton is proving to the baseball world that he isn’t just a fluke top prospect.
This is the kind of player Buxton is and can be when he’s right.
And he’s certainly on point in 2022.
He was limited to just 61 games a year ago.
Now, he is close to matching that total and passing it by a ton.
All he needs to do is remain healthy and stay off the injured list.
