The Minnesota Twins have been busy this offseason.
After signing Joey Gallo and Christian Vazquez, the team managed to keep Carlos Correa in town after his deals with both the San Francisco Giants and New York Mets fell through.
They also added starter Pablo Lopez to their rotation in a trade with the Miami Marlins and acquired outfielder Michael A. Taylor from the Kansas City Royals.
In the Lopez trade, the Twins were forced to give up the reigning American League batting champion in Luis Arraez.
Last night, Twins insider Do-Hyoung Park stopped by MLB Network to discuss the recent moves the Twins made and how the team looks heading into 2023.

Park first touched on the Taylor trade.
He acknowledged that the deal is likely not one that is going to grab many headlines, but that it doesn’t mean the deal isn’t going to be an impactful.
Park mentioned Byron Buxton and how his health remains somewhat of an issue.
Taylor could provide some insurance in the outfield should Buxton deal with more injuries.
He also could provide some power in their lineup if he sees more playing time.
Finally, Park addressed the Arraez deal.
He noted that ever since losing Johan Santana in 2008, the Twins have been searching for a starter with ace-level potential, somebody who can be a stopper when things are going wrong.
Park stated that the Twins believe Lopez can be that type of pitcher for them that can lead a rotation and potentially start Game 1 of a postseason series.
