The Minnesota Twins are attempting to regroup after losing their star shortstop Carlos Correa in free agency.
Though nothing is official and the Twins could still potentially swoop in, it’s more likely that they’ll focus elsewhere.
One area where the Twins are looking for some depth is in their starting rotation.
Twins insider Dan Hayes wrote a piece detailing a recent rumor connecting the team to veteran right-hander Michael Wacha.
The 31-year-old won 11 games and posted a 3.32 ERA with the Boston Red Sox in 2022.
However, some aren’t exactly stoked about the idea of bringing Wacha to Minnesota, and one Twins insider commented that the Twins might be better off not approaching the righty.
Don’t love Michael Wacha as a #MNTwins target at all. He’s a middle to back end option in a rotation with no room for that.
Epitome of spending money because Minnesota has to.

Wacha seemed to reinvent himself in Boston.
Still, health is a concern for the right-hander.
While he returned to form, Wacha has been dealing with a stress reaction in his right shoulder since 2014.
The right-hander broke into the big leagues with the St. Louis Cardinals in 2013 and earned NLCS MVP honors.
But since then, he has been plagued by multiple injury issues.
The shoulder issue resurfaced in 2022 and kept him out for a number of weeks.
But Wacha may not be such a bad addition for the Twins if they do decide to add a starter.
Minnesota already has Sonny Gray and Joe Ryan at the top of its rotation, and Wacha may be a solid veteran addition for the team.
But not everybody is going to be convinced of that, and some clearly are not on board with the idea of Wacha coming to Minnesota.
