The NLDS and ALDS matchups get underway this afternoon.
It’ll all start with the Philadelphia Phillies and Atlanta Braves.
Then at 3:37 p.m. Eastern Time, the Houston Astros will play host to the rag tag Seattle Mariners, who are in the postseason for the first time since 2001.
At 7:37 p.m., the New York Yankees will open up against the Cleveland Guardians.
Two hours after that, we’ll have the San Diego Padres and the Los Angeles Dodgers.
That’s all exciting, but the pitching matchups make it even more so.
Teams have their aces on the mound and ready to make a statement in October.
The pitching matchups are shown in the tweet below.

Pitching, Pitching, Pitching
It’s going to be fun to watch these matchups.
Justin Verlander and Logan Gilbert should be an exciting one.
Verlander is obviously a Cy Young contender, but Gilbert has pitched quite well against the Astros this season.
Then we’ll have Max Fried and Ranger Suarez going in the Phillies-Braves series opener.
Fried will likely be the overwhelming favorite in that matchup, but these are two guys who have had solid seasons and are very familiar with their opponents.
The Yankees will send Gerrit Cole to the mound against Cal Quantrill.
Cole went 13-8 with a 3.50 ERA this year, while Quantrill went 15-5 with a 3.38 ERA.
The Padres and Dodgers should be another interesting matchup.
The Dodgers will send Cy Young candidate Julio Urias to the mound opposite Mike Clevinger.
These are obviously two guys who have pitched in the postseason before and are familiar with the bright October lights.
It’s going to be a fun day of action.
