The Jacksonville Jaguars’ chances of moving up in the AFC South standings on Sunday were good.
They already had one victory over the Indianapolis Colts this season, and were trying for their second win.
However, the Jaguars came up short against their AFC South rival.
But in the loss, quarterback Trevor Lawrence was clearly impressive.
While his performance was historic, it became historic in a bad way.
So what was Lawrence’s unfortunate history making moment on Sunday?
Lawrence’s Performance Marks The First Time A QB Has Lost With His Stat Line
No other NFL QB has put on the performance Lawrence did on Sunday, and still lose the game.
Today, #TrevorLawrence became the first quarterback in #NFL history to lose a football game with:
20+ passing attempts
90.0%+ completion-percentage
3+ total touchdowns

In 22 passing attempts, he completed 20 passes for 165 yards.
While he had three touchdowns, two of those touchdowns came on running plays.
Despite the points he put up for his team, it was his defense which failed him.
He put on the perfect performance, and one that every NFL QB wishes they had each game.
However, it wasn’t enough against a Colts offense which found life.
Stellar Performance By Lawrence Is Over Shadowed By Horrible Defense
The Jaguars defense had a perfect matchup against a low-scoring Colts offense.
WIth the Colts missing Jonathan Taylor, this game was suppose to be easy for the Jaguars.
However, the Jaguars defense gave up 434 total yards and 34 points to the Colts.
While the Jaguars held the Colts running game to 45 yards, quarterback Matt Ryan passed for 389 yards.
Had the Jaguars defense held off his passing performance, then Lawrence could have celebrated his game with a victory.
