Los Angeles Dodgers‘ pitcher Trevor Bauer hasn’t pitched in the major leagues since June of 2021.
He has been placed on administrative leave by the league, as it investigates his involvement in a sexual assault and misconduct case.
In February, the Los Angeles County District Attorney said it would not be filing any criminal charges against the pitcher related to these incidents because it didn’t have enough evidence.
The league’s investigation isn’t done, however, and he could still face some discipline from MLB in the form of a fine or a suspension.
He recently filed defamation lawsuits to several sites and media agencies, and is now doing the same with the woman who accused him in the first place.
He announced the news himself via Twitter.
“Today I filed a defamation and tortious interference lawsuit against the San Diego woman who falsely accused me of sexual misconduct. I also named one of her attorneys, Fred Thiagarajah, for making knowingly false statements about me to the media. The lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California,” he tweeted, with a link of the complaint.

The woman said she had been physically and sexually assaulted by Bauer on two occasions.
Will Bauer Pitch Again This Year?
Bauer remains out of action, as the league reaches a resolution on his case.
He would be a welcomed addition to the Dodgers’ rotation, but the organization and its manager, Dave Roberts, remain noncommittal about his future status with the franchise.
On the field, he is a difference-maker: he won the National League Cy Young award in 2020 with the Cincinnati Reds and was having a fantastic season last year until June.
There will be news about his future in the not-so-distant future.
