Sharpe shared his wish to play for Canada in the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympics.
He revealed he’s yet to receive an invitation to play for Canada, but if he receives the invitation, he will certainly play without any second thoughts for his national team.
Canada is riding high after defeating Team USA in a game to win the bronze medal of the 2023 FIBA World Cup.
Team USA was stunned as they were defeated by Canada.
The biggest name playing for Canada is Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who finally reached stardom in the 2022-23 season.
Sharpe had a terrific rookie season with the Portland Trail Blazers.
The seventh overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft averaged 9.9 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.2 assists over 80 games in the season.
Considering it was his rookie year, Sharpe is bound to improve and only get better from this point forward.
If he shows great potential during his sophomore season with the Trail Blazers, he may get the nod to play in Canada’s jersey for the 2024 Paris Olympics and beyond.
Now, it’s in his hands to book a place in Canada’s roster.
