The Phoenix Suns have been the talk of the NBA this week but on Thursday night they were just another opponent to the Atlanta Hawks.
The Hawks didn’t care at all about the trade for Kevin Durant or the future the team has – they just wanted to beat them.
That is exactly what they did, as the Hawks took home a strong 116-107 victory.

Once again, Trae Young was the biggest help to his team.
He scored 36 points, 7 rebounds, 12 assists, and 5 three-pointers during the game.
His stat line was impressive – 55/62/91% – and he had a 77.3% true shooting percentage.
This is the sort of Young that fans of the Hawks love to see.
When he is playing like this, he is seemingly unstoppable and reminds people why he’s one of the greatest guards in the league.
If you watched the Hawks play on Thursday night, you’d be hard-pressed as to why they aren’t doing better in the Eastern Conference.
Dejounte Murray scored 19 points and 8 rebounds, John Collins produced 16, Onyeka Okongwu made 11, and Clint Capela scored 7 points and an amazing 17 rebounds.
It was a great showing from the whole team.
Yet, the Hawks are still eighth in the East, which is far from the plans of having the top seed.
There is still a lot of time left in the season and the Hawks could start to fly higher, especially if they keep playing as they did on Thursday.
If that doesn’t happen, this could end up being Young’s last season with Atlanta.
Rumors suggest he may demand a trade if his team doesn’t succeed.
Thursday night made it again clear that any success the team finds will involve him.
