During the 2000s, the Houston Rockets had a competitive roster with Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming at the core of the team.
The duo had insane potential but ultimately failed to live up to the expectations.
They were teammates from 2004 until mid-season in 2009.
Unfortunately, injuries played a crucial part in holding back the Rockets from truly dominating the Western Conference.
Speaking of the duo, McGrady and Ming recently linked up as revealed via Ballislife.com on Twitter.

As per the tweet, the duo averaged more than half of the Rockets’ points per game between 2005 and 2007.
It’s a great accomplishment, but ultimately didn’t help the Rockets make a deep playoff run.
With that being said, the farthest that the duo went in the postseason was the Western Conference Semifinals during the 2009 NBA playoffs.
It was a breathtaking matchup between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Houston Rockets.
The series went seven games, but the Lakers ultimately proved too much to handle for the Rockets.
Following the Second Round exit, the Rockets decided to pull the plug on the McGrady-Ming duo as the former was traded to the New York Knicks after playing just six games for the Rockets in the 2009-10 season.
On the other hand, Ming missed the entire season due to a foot injury and played just five games in the following season before announcing retirement at just 30 years old.
In a world where injuries don’t exist, the duo could have led the Rockets to multiple championships.
