The MLB is a league full of parity, and there seem to be some contending teams that might struggle in 2023.
Looking at how the league is shaping up in the offseason, a few division winners are set to regress.
These two teams have been staples atop their division over the past few seasons.
But, it should surprise no one if their win totals decrease next season.
Here are two top MLB teams that could regress in 2023.
1. Atlanta Braves
One of the staples in the NL East over the past five seasons has been the Atlanta Braves.
They have won the division five consecutive seasons, but they have regressed this offseason.
After losing in the NLDS to the Philadelphia Phillies, the Braves have not reloaded their roster.
They lost their closer Kenley Jansen, and seem likely to lose shortstop Dansby Swanson.
Luckily, the Braves have a very solid core of young players that can carry them next season.
Also, adding catcher Sean Murphy will help both offensively and defensively.

But, to expect them to win another 101 games is quite optimistic.
Also, the Phillies and New York Mets have improved their rosters, making the division tougher on Atlanta.
The Braves should still be a playoff team but winning the division for the sixth straight year may be a stretch.
2. Los Angeles Dodgers
It seems like every year the Dodgers have one of the top records in baseball.
But, their lack of postseason success has been odd.
Last season the Dodgers won 111 games, yet could not win one playoff series.
It is almost a guarantee that the Dodgers will regress in 2023.
The Dodgers have lost Trea Turner, Tyler Anderson, Craig Kimbrel, and Cody Bellinger to free agency.
Also, starting pitcher Walker Buehler will miss the entire season after undergoing Tommy John surgery.
Plus, the rest of their division has gotten better.
I hope Dodger fans are happy — this is what they asked for by not wanting Carlos Correa in LA.
The NL West is going to be quite the juggernaut for the next decade. Should be a lot of fun. https://t.co/ykKae1uL3q

The San Diego Padres are once again loaded, and the San Francisco Giants should have a much better team after adding Carlos Correa.
Los Angeles has won the NL West nine of the last 10 seasons, but this division is fully up for grabs in 2023.
