Just a month ago, we weren’t sure where St. Louis Cardinals top prospect Jordan Walker would end up.
Many were theorizing that his days in the Cards organization were numbered after trade rumors about Juan Soto began circulating.
Ultimately, the Cards didn’t go for Soto and held onto Walker, which is looking like the right move so far.
Walker continues to hit blasts down in Double-A Springfield.
Last night, Walker went deep for the 18th time this season.
The ball traveled 419 feet into the air and came off the bat at a speed of 106 mph.
Needless to say, Walker can mash, and he has a bright future.

A Gem In The Cards’ Pipeline
One would assume that it wouldn’t be too much longer before we see Walker make it to Triple-A.
With the way he’s hitting, it’s very possible that he could end up in the Major Leagues at some point next year.
With Albert Pujols gone after this year, the Cardinals may have the perfect spot for him as a potential designated hitter.
This kid can hit some bombs and he can hit them high and far.
We can only speculate at this point, but if you put him in the same lineup as Paul Goldschmidt and Nolan Arenado, you could potentially have one of the best and most powerful lineups in all of baseball.
There’s a reason the Cardinals are so high on him.
He was drafted in the first round back in 2020 and has torn it up in the minors ever since.
He was one of two Cardinals Futures Game selections this year.
If the Cardinals can get him to the big leagues soon, then there’s going to be a lot to get excited about in St. Louis.
