The Arizona Fall League season is currently taking place.
This is always a great chance for teams’ top prospects to shine and show what they’re made of, giving their respective teams an exciting glimpse into the future.
One such prospect who is making some noise is Jordan Walker, who is the No. 1 ranked prospect in the St. Louis Cardinals minor-league system.
Walker, a third baseman, was drafted in 2020 and is highly regarded by Cardinals scouts and is viewed as a key piece for the team’s future.
Last night, Walker hit his team leading third home run of the AFL season.

Walker Continues Mashing
This has to have the Cardinals feeling good about their future.
While Nolan Arenado is the starting third baseman, Walker is knocking on the door of the Major Leagues and doesn’t have much left to prove in the minors.
Walker’s bat is something that the Cardinals value tremendously, and with Albert Pujols gone and Corey Dickerson expected to walk, a spot may be opening up for him on the big-league roster.
At Double-A Springfield, Walker hit .306 with 19 home runs and 68 RBI.
It likely won’t be too much longer before he gets a promotion to Triple-A Memphis and sees a spot open up for him on the Cardinals’ big-league roster.
Walker has risen through the ranks of the Cardinals organization and is somebody that the team and fans alike are very excited to see very soon.
So far, he’s off to a good start in AFL play.
The Cardinals have to like what they’re seeing.
