As an NFL player, Dan Campbell wasn’t a superstar.
He was a hard-working guy who would put his body on the line for his team, a good teammate, and someone who didn’t care about the spotlight.
Now, he’s taking that same approach to coaching.
Campbell has turned the Detroit Lions into a legitimate Super Bowl contender.
He’s led by example since day one by showing just how much he cared about the team, the organization, and each and every single one of his players and staff members.
That’s why, following the Lions’ big win over the Green Bay Packers, Tom Brady showered him with praise (via Brad Galli).
The legendary quarterback admitted that he would’ve loved to have him as a coach or as a teammate.
“I would have loved to have him as a coach. I would have loved to have him as a teammate.”

He praised him for being a great leader and someone who’s authentic and genuinely cares about his players.
The Lions are a family right now.
Even offensive coordinator Ben Johnson chose to stay instead of becoming a head coach because he felt like he had unfinished business there.
Granted, plenty of this turnaround has also been due to the front office and the great moves they’ve made to stack this roster together.
But it takes more than talent to find success in this league.
Campbell has built a culture of accountability and hard work there, and he’s continued to improve as a head coach as well.
This team deserves every bit of the success they’re getting right now.
