The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are back in business after Tom Brady announced that he will return for his 23rd NFL season.
His retirement lasted 40 days, which was shorter than the MLB lockout.
With Brady taking his place under center, other Buccaneers free agents like Rob Gronkowski, Leonard Fournette, Ndamukong Suh, and Jason Pierre-Paul will likely return to Tampa Bay.
Likewise, teams that would like to reach the Super Bowl as the NFC’s representative must deal with Bruce Arians’ squad down the road.
But aside from potential team accomplishments, Brady has an opportunity to chase more records, as NFL reporter Dov Kleiman pointed out.
Things that will likely happen now that Tom Brady unretired:
* Tom Brady will become the first player to reach over 100,000 total career yards.
* Tom Brady will become the Bucs all-time leading TDs passer after only 3 seasons on the team. [The Bucs franchise started in 1976]

Kleiman tweeted, “Things that will likely happen now that Tom Brady unretired: *Tom Brady will become the first player to reach over 100,000 total career yards. *Tom Brady will become the Bucs’ all-time leading TDs passer after only 3 seasons on the team. [The Bucs franchise started in 1976].”
Those accomplishments are a testament to his longevity and there’s not a morsel of doubt that he will miss on those records in 2022.
Brady already holds the record for most passing touchdowns with 710, including the playoffs.
Meanwhile, he currently has 97,569 yards, meaning that he might reach the 100,000 milestone by midseason.
Reaching that number won’t be difficult, especially because he had 5,316 yards last season.
Buccaneers All-Time Passing Record
After two seasons with the Buccaneers, Brady already has 11,610 passing yards (playoffs included).
However, the franchise hasn’t had a quarterback who became their main starter for more than five seasons.
Doug Williams, Vinny Testaverde, Trent Dilfer, and Jameis Winston were the play-callers who became the team’s starter for the better part of five seasons.
Brady’s passing yards total last season alone is a huge boost for his pursuit of the franchise record.
The seven-time Super Bowl champion will break that mark without breaking a sweat.
