There was a time when Todd Gurley was one of the best running backs in the NFL.
He had that rare combination of size and speed that allowed him to dominate opposing defenses.
The former Georgia standout became a three-time All-Pro and a three-time Pro Bowler.
He was also the 2017 NFL Offensive Player of the Year and 2015 Offensive Rookie of the Year.
Gurley also led the league in rushing touchdowns twice.
That said, he still holds a surprising mark even if he did not play at all in 2021.
Nobody in the NFL has scored more touchdowns since 2016 than Todd Gurley (69).

Gurley’s 69 touchdowns since 2016 are the most in the league.
He scored six touchdowns for the Rams in 2016 when the franchise returned from St. Louis to Los Angeles.
He then added 13 in 2017 and 17 in 2018.
Gurley had 12 touchdowns for the Rams in 2019.
After that season, he signed a one-year contract with the Atlanta Falcons and finished the campaign with nine scores.
He started his career with ten touchdowns during his rookie season to make it 67.
Scoring two touchdowns for the Rams during the 2018 NFL playoffs makes it 69.
Sadly, the peak of his career lasted only six seasons as his performance started to decline.
He only had 857 yards in his final year with the Rams and 678 in his lone season with Atlanta.
Leg injuries reduced his production and he remains a free agent at 28 years old.
Can Gurley Return To The League?
That’s a question that only he can answer.
He has to put in more work to bounce back as an elite running back, especially after missing one season.
But with new talent coming every year, it’s hard to see any team giving him another shot.
Unfortunately, his career ended as soon as it blossomed and he could have done more if he stayed healthy.
