The retirement of Bruce Arians from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers has opened a door for Todd Bowles.
Bowles’ promotion to the head coach comes after spending three years as defensive coordinator with the team.
His last job as a head coach in the NFL came in 2018 when he coached the New York Jets.
He never had a team there like he has now in Tampa Bay.
Players like Tom Brady, Chris Godwin, Mike Evans, and Leonard Fournette give him a powerhouse on offense.
The defense that he spent years building in Tampa has been a top ten defense the past two years.
That defense played a huge role in the team’s success during the 2020-21 NFL playoffs.
Without the players and plays they made during the playoffs, they wouldn’t have a Super Bowl trophy.
It can be why Bowles was selected to become the head coach of the Buccaneers.
Arians hands over control of that great Tampa Bay team to him going into the 2022 season.
What Makes This Coaching Run Different From His Last Run?
The simplest answer to this comes down to one word: talent.
Love that Todd Bowles gets another shot after previous run as HC of the Jets. This time, he has a complete team and an elite QB – which he never had with Jets.

Tampa Bay has the best talent in the NFL on their roster.
Seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady gives him a field general any team would love to have.
He has all the weapons he needs on offense with Fournette, Godwin, and Evans.
The only team that could compare to the Bucs with the talent they have is the Los Angeles Rams.
When Bowles started his first year as a head coach in New York, he didn’t have the talent like he has now.
He would have Ryan Fitzpatrick and Brandon Marshall for their offense.
They don’t even compare to what he currently has with Brady, Evans, and Godwin.
But even with just those two players, Bowles ended the season with a 10-6 record.
However, he couldn’t replicate that success without top-tier talent in New York.
With the Bucs, he has a legendary quarterback to help him cement his legacy in the NFL.
Can Bowles Find Success With The Bucs After Brady Leaves?
Someday, Brady will retire and retire for good.
That day won’t see him coming back after 40 days away from the sport.
However, it hasn’t stopped people from joking how he is the Iron Man of the NFL and will keep playing football.
Even one video game had him as the MVP in the year 2042.

However, he won’t be around forever like the game projects.
Bowles knows this and has a defense to help him when win games Brady retires.
He also has top offensive stars signed for three-year contracts, helping keep talent in place for a while.
All that is left is for him to find a successor for Brady when that day does finally comes.
Whether it be next season or in 2042, the plan needs to be in place for Bowles’ future success with Tampa Bay.
He already has all the other pieces in place for success beyond Brady’s career with the Buccaneers.
