About a third of the way into the 2022-23 NBA season, there are several players who have distinguished themselves as legitimate MVP candidates.
But there is one player – Luka Doncic – who is putting up the type of numbers that haven’t been seen in multiple generations, and even LeBron James has never had a season like the one he is having.
ESPN personality Tim Legler said that the Dallas Mavericks superstar will not only win multiple MVP awards before his career is over but that he is the most dominant offensive player around.
"Luka Dončić is going to win multiple MVPs in his career. … This is the most DOMINANT offensive player in the NBA."

Doncic Is Truly One-Of-A-Kind
The Slovenian native emerged three seasons ago as a legitimate superstar, averaging 28.8 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 8.8 assists per game in just his second year in the league.
He maintained those numbers the past two seasons, but this year, he has taken things up a notch.
Doncic is putting up 33.0 points, which is leading the NBA, 8.4 rebounds and 8.7 assists a contest, and he is also shooting a career-high 49.6 percent from the field.
By comparison, James’ highest-scoring season came last year when he averaged 30.3 points along with 8.2 boards and 6.2 dimes per game.
To find the last time a player was outputting the kind of numbers Doncic is right now, one would have to go back to the 1960s and look at the stats of men such as Wilt Chamberlain and Oscar Robertson.
It’s a real shame that the Mavericks haven’t gotten Doncic much help and that they have a mediocre 14-14 record because what he’s doing these days is truly historic.
