The 2022 season is almost upon us.
We’ve sat through a long and arduous lockout that put the sport on hold for 99 days.
We’ve seen the season get delayed time and again.
But now, here we are.
The season is near, and things are about to get exciting.
One team in particular is excited about a certain duo they have on their roster.
The Detroit Tigers showed signs of promise late in 2021 and finished third in the American League Central division with a 77-85 record, but they have been busy this offseason, signing Javier Baez, Andrew Chafin, Michael Pineda, and Eduardo Rodriguez, as well as trading for Tucker Barnhart
Now, Detroit boasts a veteran duo of Baez and Miguel Cabrera in their lineup as they look to try and build a contending ballclub in 2022.
Is 2022 the year of El Mago and Miggy?
Together, Javier Báez and Miguel Cabrera could form the emotional core of a Tigers team hoping to contend this season.

Tigers Ready To Contend?
The Tigers certainly look a lot better on paper with these additions, but a lineup with Cabrera and Baez is definitely dangerous by the looks of it.
These two stars could be the leaders of this team in 2022, two veteran presences that know what it’s like to win and how to carry a ballclub, that could provide the spark that this young Detroit team needs.
The young talent on the roster was already impressive, but with Baez next to Cabrera in the lineup, that young core is now enhanced and manager A.J. Hinch has a lot of options.
And it certainly helps to play in a hitter’s ballpark like Comerica Park, one that Cabrera has a lot of experience hitting home runs in.
Detroit is a young and exciting team, and we’ll see what they can do with their new lethal combo of Cabrera and Baez.
