The Detroit Tigers found themselves on the wrong end of a crazy ending to their game against the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday night.
Two outs shy of a victory, Tigers lefty Gregory Soto allowed a base hit to Miguel Sano.
A baserunning snafu at third base almost cost the Twins dearly, but any potential damage done there was offset by catcher Eric Haase‘s errant throw to third, which allowed Trevor Larnach and Gio Urshela to score and walk it off for the Twins by a final score of 5-4.
After the game was over, the Tigers had the perfect tweet to capture the disappointment and shock from the way the game ended.
Final.

That’s All She Wrote
This is about all you can say if you’re the Tigers’ social media team.
When you’ve got a game almost won and cough it up like that in embarrassing fashion, there isn’t much more that can be said.
The Tigers had it in the bag and let it slip away.
The game ended in an embarrassing fashion for them with some less than stellar defense.
The Tigers luckily are only 2.5 games behind the Twins for first place in the AL Central.
However, they do find themselves in a last place tie with the Chicago White Sox at 6-10.
There is obviously plenty of time to rebound from this loss, but for now, it’s a tough way to lose, especially after Detroit had fought back and taken the lead on Javier Baez‘s go-ahead, three-run homer in the top of the eighth.
Baez’s late game heroics couldn’t save the day as disaster descended upon the Tigers in the bottom of the ninth and led to the Twins’ walk-off victory.
