It remains to be seen if the Oklahoma City Thunder can keep winning games and earn their spot in the playoffs this year.
But one thing is definitely very clear as the postseason approaches: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is a legitimate superstar talent and the most important part of the team.
Gilgeous-Alexander has been one to watch for a while now but he is on a whole other level this year.

He has been averaging 30.8 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 5.7 assists per game this year.
There are only three players in the history of the league to average 30+ points, 5+ assists, and 1+ block in a season before turning 25 years old: LeBron James, Michael Jordan, and now Gilgeous-Alexander.
This isn’t the first time that this Thunder star has been compared to those icons of the game.
He is playing with the sort of drive and skill that could keep him as an MVP candidate for many years to come.
He is definitely being talked about as a possible winner of this season’s Most Improved Player award.
Looking at his numbers, it’s clear to see why: he was averaging 24.5 points last year.
Gilgeous-Alexander isn’t the only talented player who is doing work for the Thunder but he’s certainly the one making the most noise.
Because of the breakout year he’s having, he just earned his first All-Star appearance, which brought even more attention to him.
Gilgeous-Alexander is doing things that only a select few NBA stars have done and the good news is that he isn’t slowing down.
He has more to prove and has given every reason to believe he will.
