The first round of the MLB Draft has come and gone.
Several young stars had their dreams realized when they were drafted, knowing their hard work had paid off.
Several of the players selected were sons of former MLB stars.
The first pick overall in the draft, Jackson Holliday, is the son of MLB legend Matt Holliday.
Jackson was taken by the Baltimore Orioles last night.
It’s crazy to think that former big leaguers’ sons are now breaking into professional baseball.
MLB tweeted a photo that will make everybody feel old.
The photo is of Matt Holliday holding a young Jackson on the podium as the Colorado Rockies celebrated their National League pennant in 2007.

Time Flies
Again, it’s crazy to think that these former stars’ sons are already on the doorstep of Major League Baseball.
Jackson is 18 years old right now, which means he was only three when this photo was taken.
Time sure flies, doesn’t it?
It’s hard to believe it’s been that long since Holliday first made it to the World Series.
He would make it to the Fall Classic two more times with the St. Louis Cardinals.
But this was all when Jackson was just a little kid.
Now, he’s a fully grown adult man ready to start his professional baseball career.
When you look at that photo and realize that the three-year-old kid that Matt is holding is now the No. 1 pick in this year’s draft, you wonder where the time went.
It has to feel weird for some of Holliday’s biggest fans, who grew up watching him play as children.
Now his son is a part of the MLB family.
