The New York Yankees offense has gone on vacation since the start of the second half.
While the pitching has remained competent for the most part, it appears that Yankees not named Aaron Judge forgot how to hit after the All-Star break.
Gleyber Torres, Isiah Kiner-Falefa, Josh Donaldson, and other prominent hitters are currently slumping; while Anthony Rizzo has been affected by a back injury, Giancarlo Stanton just returned from an Achilles issue and Matt Carpenter and Harrison Bader remain out.
Scoring runs has been a problem, especially since July.
Before that, the Yanks’ lineup was perhaps the best and most productive in Major League Baseball, particularly in the power department.
Those were the days: right now, the Yankees are lucky to score four or five runs in any given game.
They lost 3-2 against the Los Angeles Angels on Wednesday, their last game, and were limited to just three hits.
“Yankees now have 12 games with 3 hits or fewer this season. The only team with more is the Tigers (15),” MLB stats expert Katie Sharp tweeted.

The Yankees Offense Is Not Looking Good
Oddly, the hits came from Torres, Donaldson, and Hicks, three players whose offensive output has been extremely disappointing this season.
When they are on, the Yankees’ hitters can score over 10 runs in any given game.
However, some of their hitters tend to fall victim to bad habits at the plate, or have been injured or hurt this year.
As a result, they are also surprisingly prone to being shut out by any pitcher in any given night.
Oswaldo Cabrera and Oswald Peraza are now up to see if they can help the team with some solid swings.
They were brilliant in the minors.
The offense, however, is really struggling at the moment.
