The New York Yankees are the kings of the comeback win in baseball.
No lead against them is ever safe: unless you are winning by 10 or 15 runs, you shouldn’t feel victorious until you get out number 27.
It’s that kind of year for the Yanks: they have the talent, the offense to build a rally out of nowhere, and the bullpen to protect late leads once they get them.
They will lose on occasion, but they always make things interesting, and they win most of the time.
The Kings Of The Comeback Win Strike Again
They have an MLB-best 54-20 record, and many of those wins have been of the comeback variety.
In fact, most of their recent victories have seem them down in the score before eventually turn things around.
“Wed: Yankees trail by 3 at TB, rally to win. Thu: Yankees trail by 3 vs Hou, rally to win. Sun: Yankees trail by 3 vs Hou, rally to win. Mon: Yankees trail by 4 vs Oak, rally to win. It’s the first time the @Yankees have ever rallied from 3+ runs down to win 4 times in a 6-game span,” Stats by STATS tweeted.

Not only did the Yankees come from behind to win all those games, but they mostly did it against elite, playoff-caliber teams (with the exception of the Oakland Athletics).
They turned games around in the late innings with homers against some of the best relievers in baseball, and their own bullpen pieces shut down elite lineups from the seventh inning on.
These 2022 Yankees are a resilient bunch: they just won’t go down without a fight, and they have enough talent to get back in the game more often than not.
