The New York Yankees are getting some really good news on the injury front this week.
As they head to the American League Division Series, they will get a crucial relief pitcher back just in time.
“Wandy Peralta will be on postseason roster as expected. Important arm back for the #yankees pen,” YES Network’s Meredith Marakovits tweeted.

While Peralta was widely expected to be ready for the Guardians matchup, it was far from a given.
He has been struggling with a lower back strain for a couple of weeks now, and those injuries are tricky.
Fortunately, he has been pain-free for a few days and has been throwing, so his arm is ready.
Peralta Gives The Yankees Bullpen A Much-Needed Boost Ahead Of The ALDS
The Guardians’ bullpen, at this point, is much better and deeper than the Yankees’, so any gains New York can make are extremely important.
Peralta has been very, very good in 2022 and has thrived in a variety of roles.
He has retired both righties and lefties regularly, he has succeeded when called upon to get the last three outs, and he has been extremely consistent and has avoided long ruts of bad performance.
Overall, his 2.72 ERA and 2.86 Fielding Independent Pitching (FIP) in 56.1 innings tell you everything you need to know about the kind of campaign he had.
The changeup artist will take on an even larger role in October now that fellow lefty Aroldis Chapman will not be on the postseason roster.
Only Peralta and Lucas Luetge can be counted on as reliable southpaws, given that Zack Britton probably won’t be ready to return at any point in October.
