The Philadelphia Phillies busted out in Game 1 of the NLDS against the defending World Series champion Atlanta Braves and held off a late rally to seal the victory.
With Zack Wheeler on the mound for Game 2, the Phils have a chance of returning home with a 2-0 series lead.
Unfortunately, there may be something standing in the way of them accomplishing that today, and it has nothing to do with the Braves countering with Kyle Wright.
The weather in Atlanta is not looking so good prior to the start of Game 2.
Braves insider Maria Martin tweeted a photo of the field, which at the moment is covered by a tarp as rain falls in Atlanta.
There’s a decent rain falling at Truist right now. No there is no update on timing. I’ll pass along as soon as I hear. #ForTheA #Back2Battle pic.twitter.com/5cYb1j6UjN

Bad Weather For Game 2
The last thing baseball fans want to see happen during the postseason is a rainout.
Unfortunately, that is a real possibility this afternoon in Atlanta.
The game is set to get underway at 4:37 p.m. Eastern Time, but if rain continues to fall, there could at the very least be a delayed start this afternoon.
Martin mentioned in her tweet that there is currently no update yet on whether or not the rain will last that long.
But if it does, Game 2 could be delayed, or at worst, postponed to tomorrow.
Baseball fans can only hope that the rain holds off and the game can be played.
This series is an exciting matchup between two heated NL East rivals who have been battling each other all season long.
Today’s pitching matchup is an exciting one as well.
Wheeler obviously pitched great in St. Louis for the opener of the NL Wild Card Series, throwing 6.1 innings of scoreless baseball.
Hopefully, the rain will hold off and the game can be played today.
